Quattlebaum Development Company is a third generation family-owned and operated real estate development company in Charleston, S.C., that specializes in industrial sites. With nearly 80 years of experience in the construction business, the company, founded in 1927, has been handed down through the generations and is now run by brothers Alex Quattlebaum, III and Scott Quattlebaum. 

A full-service company whose owners take a hands-on approach to management, Quattlebaum Development Company oversees the entire development process from start to finish. Services include site location, design, construction, property management and leasing negotiation for both industrial and commercial sites. The company builds brand new facilities and tailors existing ones quickly to fit the needs of clients, who range from first-time business owners to billion-dollar companies, like Caterpillar and Corning, Inc.

With approximately two million square feet in its current inventory, all in South Carolina, Quattlebaum Development Company's key properties include McQueen Park in Jedburg, Cainhoy Park and McCall Center in Charleston, Tri-County Industrial Park in Summerville and Florence Industrial Park in Florence. All of the company's properties are located within Foreign Trade Zones, allowing clients the convenience of removing goods as needed in order to pay custom taxes in smaller amounts.

Longtime philanthropists with a rich history in the state of South Carolina, the Quattlebaum family believes in giving back to the community in which it works and supports causes as varied as education, the arts and the preservation of Southern plantations.

History

Quattlebaum Development Company traces its beginnings back to 1927 when it was originally founded by Capt. Harry Lee Harllee, the great uncle of today's company principals, as Harllee Construction Company in Florence, S.C. In its early days, the company focused on general construction throughout the area, building roads and homes.
